Off to North America - Canada

So we finally headed off to Calgary. After changing our plans so many times, we decided on only staying for a week or so, just to catch up with family before heading to New York for Christmas and New Year.

Unfortunately, my camera got stolen in New York, so I only have limited photos.

Anyway, was great to see Doug, Kim and Tanner and catch up with Graham and Adam after about 15 years!! Graham and Leah were fantastic and showed us around, took us out for drinks and drove us up to Banff for the day in munus 30' temperatures, thanks guys, looking forward to returning the favour when we see ya next.

Drank heaps of eggnog, ate like a king thanks to Kim and had some good chats with Dougy.
Also spent loads of time watching the antics of Halo, she spanned the full spectrum of stardom, from the highs of performing for the crowd, to the shame of pissing on the floor, and finally sulking, full of resentment for the audience she had once loved, so funny. Wish I had my videos of her.

Before we left, we bought Tanner an ear gauging set for Christmas on ebay that he wanted, haha, sorry Doug and Kim.

Next we headed to Parksville to see my Grandad and Nana that I hadn't seen for 15 years.

Was so nice to catch up, we sat and talked for ages, walked around where they live which is beautiful, went to the pub for lunch and a few beers and clam chowder. Nana was as busy as ever and so fit it was amazing. Grandad was quietly reflective, just as I remember him and heaps like me. We chatted for ages about work and travel and their experiences growing up and loads of stuff. Great visit!! Looking forward to going back again in the summer time.

No photos for the minute until I get Nana to email them to me.
